
Apparently, the developer who purchased the property in 2012, Ciro Campagnoli, initially intended to keep it as is--it was purely an investment play. But after spending more time at Sense, Campagnoli started to have a vision. A vision of a brighter, beachier future.
The 18 rooms are now more in keeping with the idea of a laidback SoFi SoBe escape, and the hotel's restaurant, Local House, is doing the whole farm-to-table, raw-bar, seasonal ingredients thing.
The best part? The rooftop, of course...

We checked rates for Super Bowl weekend (always a fun time in Miami), and while the regular rates are around $459 a night (for a city-view room), there is a winter special that brings that down to $344.25 a night. Later in March, on a weeknight, the same room is going for $289 a night.
