With the launch of the Royal Suite the hotel has also introduced its first “By Appointment” collection, which lets guests of the Royal Suite piece together their perfect home away from home by adding connecting rooms to the base suite. So, if you just want a one-bedroom suite, you can have it. Or, you can go to town and have a five-bedroom, five-bath suite that’s over 2,000 sq ft in size. You can even add the hotel’s signature duplex London Suite to the mix to give you a suite that’s over 3,750 sq ft of pure grandeur. Each of the connecting rooms have been redesigned to complement the look of the Royal Suite.
Highlights include a hand-blown glass chandelier in the living room inspired by Her Majesty’s shiny diamond collection; the flora-lined satin canopy bed that’s a shout out to Cecil Beaton’s backdrops used in his portraits of the Queen; toiletries from Penhaligon’s, the perfumers to the Royal family; and artwork created by Ann Carrington, the artist who made the Royal Jubilee banner for the Royal Barge, as well as sketches of the Queen’s headgear and her beloved doggies.
Naturally, the Royal Suite is a customized deal, so the hotel must be contacted directly for rates. Yep, it's one of those "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" situations. To give you a general idea, though, a regular one-bedroom suite at the hotel can be had for GBP 668 ($1,058) if you book a Weekend Escapes package.
If you happen to go, please bring your best Royal bonnet and perfect your Queen's wave!
