Aloft SFO Opening Set for September 13

Just a smidge behind the initially proposed opening date of August 30th, today it was announced that the Aloft San Francisco Airport will fling-open its doors on September 13th.
The former Clarion Hotel, which dates back to the 1960s, was added into the Starwood fam. They company gave the aging hotel a makeover, proposed future greatness, and now the 263-room property has a sparkly Aloft name-ring on it.
Like other airport hotels in the chain, this one is close to transportation—less than three miles from SFO (a free shuttle runs back and forth every 15 minutes) and a short walk from the Millbrae BART station which will get you to downtown San Francisco in 20 minutes. We say double win, and one to consider when thinking about your favorite San Francisco hotel.
We’ve regaled you with the bells and whistles you can find at Aloft hotels and this outpost is the same with free WiFi, live music at the w xyz bar, and the re:mix lounge with a pool table and cozy chairs to relax after a flight. And when you wanna work on your fitness, there’s the fully-equipped re:charge gym and a swimming pool.
The rooms look to be standard issue, with only the art work showing the Golden Gate Bridge distinguishing this hotel from others. No matter, we never said Aloft was about ambiance.
Opening day rates show $119 per night, which keeps with the low prices we’ve come to love. But, dates for late September and October have prices climbing into the high $200s, so if you have business in the Bay Area, don’t sleep, lock in your ressies now.
