Fall is coming, but don't put away your bikini just yet. Perfect beach weather still prevails at the 24-room luxury retreat Lumeria Maui. It's after Labor Day, but as with most things in Hawaii, the calendar doesn't much matter here. At Lumeria there are still many beach days to celebrate your well-being with yoga, renew your relationship to nature, and experience true Hawaiian culture.

Lumeria is located on six-acres between that little sparkler of a beach town Paia, one of the best surfing and windsurfing spots on the island, and Makawao on Maui's North Shore. Situated near the slopes of Haleakala, the Hawaiian name for House of the Rising Run, Lumeria is a great spot to practice your sun salutations each morning as the sun rises up over the crater.

The Lumeria bills itself as a "luxurious, educational adventure and wellness retreat". And although the wish for you here is to experience the beauty and tranquility of this special place on the planet and your unique place in the grand scheme of things, there is nothing granola-y here. The historic Baldwin family sugar plantation workers' rest home building continues to offer serenity and is now re- purposed and re-designed by owner Xorin Bales to make it quite upscale.

Since Maui holds an abiding attraction for most water sport and wellness experts, naturally Lumeria's programs feature top professionals sharing their knowledge of yoga, meditation, and wave water sports with guests. Yoga classes are provided with your stay, and you can opt to surf, windsurf, kite surf and stand up paddle board (SUP) at the beach five minutes away with an expert if you wish for an extra fee.

A stay at Lumeria is customizable and may include a combination of wellness, education and Hawaiian culture activities and even cleansing, edible gardening, and aromatherapy classes. Rates are $349 and include yoga classes.

Great article! Have enough information about the hotel. A combination of wellness, education and Hawaiian culture activities and even cleansing, edible gardening, and aromatherapy classes including Yoga classes only at the rate of $349 is awesome. As a yoga trainer working at <a href="http://www.anamayaresort.com">Anamaya Yoga</a> I want to visit the hotel to enjoy all of its services.
