We should start by pointing out that, should the side of the building still prove unusually exciting for you, each room comes with a balcony overlooking all of South Boston, so you can do all the imaginary abseiling you like. For actual abseiling, we'd highly, highly recommend an actual climbing wall.
Back inside the room, a relatively bland color scheme on the walls and headboard is offset by bursts of color on the bed and furniture. A red domed reading lamp here, a lime green bed spread there...things definitely get playful enough to distract from the questionable carpeting and drab curtains. And the furniture itself—from the circular, all-white reading table to the black-and-white checkered (or is that herringbone?) chaise lounges—evokes something we'd see at a Kimpton or a Radisson Blu (interestingly, the hotel actually used to be a Radisson before it was taken over by an independent company).
The layout could be a little tighter; by that, we mean that the white desk by the balcony seemed like it was just added in to fill up space. But hey, better having too much square footage than not enough!
As for the bathrooms, they are a bit on the small side (we saw a suite with a similar-sized john, and began to wonder whether splurging for an upgrade here would even be worth it). But compact and efficient nonetheless—with a narrow counter running along the side of the wall widening as it gets to the sink. The all-white tiles are a nice touch, and, thankfully, there's plenty of mirror space. Toiletries are by Boston-based company Skoah.
We'd gladly spend a night here, with plenty of room to move around and some nice public spaces to keep us occupied.
