Chateau Marmont Temporarily Becomes Katy Perry's and John Mayer's Wonderland

The vine-covered terraces of LA's most legendary celebrity-frequented hotel proved the perfect spot for Katy Perry to do a little canoodling with newfound beau, a fellow pop singer of some note.

And while the hotel has seen plenty of celebs flowing in and out since day one (it's even rumored to be getting its own Aaron Sorkin-produced HBO series), on Wednesday night, photographers stationed outside got money shots of Perry sheepishly trying to exit the hotel unnoticed.

Which you obviously can't do at the Chateau Marmont. And which Katy Perry especially can't do when she's riding in the passenger seat of John Mayer's car.

The pair are brand new, and have only been spotted by the paps on two dates so far. But, as far as choosing obscure, out-of-the-way places for their hotel rendez-vous, they don't seem too familiar with the concept of 'laying low.' Their first date, according to the NY Daily News, was at SoHo House, another famously exclusive, yet high-, high-, high-profile celebrity venue.

Clearly, Perry is enjoying her post-marriage fling, and isn't about to waste a photo opportunity on some back alley Olive Garden or Courtyard By Marriott! Unlike a certain Prince we know.

As for Mr. Mayer, the long-locked Casanova has a history of shacking up for romantic weekends with A-list females at places like Four Seasons Miami, Mandarin Oriental Miami and InterContinental Amstel. So what's a romance-filled evening at yet another expensive hotel with yet another P.Y.T.? He's nothing if not consistent.
