While the horse itself is a part of the meeting rooms (which, interestingly, used to be part of the building's parking lot), it was the ground-floor lobby that had us stumbling through with our camera, attempting to capture the breezy, modern feel of the circular space—which centers around a gorgeous 3-piece steel sculpture inspired by the Richard Serra Sculpture. The hotel's sculpture was actually done by three different groups with original figures by Novo Arts; selection, scale, and composition by BBGM and bronze sculptures made by Michael Hayes of Mike's Welding Co.

The design of the lobby plunges you immediately into the calm, artsy, laid-back vibe of the hotel. In order to reach the Front Desk upon entering, guests must first follow a ramp along the outside of a circular wall, the inside of which contains a circular lounge area where the impressive sculpture sits.

Some people were hanging out on benches next to the sculpture, while most just glanced at the artwork in passing.

Once down at the Front Desk, an entire room opens up, set off by another attractive piece of art—an entire wall covered in tiny square panels reaching out at varying lengths from the wall. Each panel has a different texture and is painted a different shade of gold, silver and bronze, making for quite the eye candy while you're waiting to check in.

Along the walls of the lobby, local artists and business have installed mini galleries to show off their wares, so you'll find products like perfumes, jewelry, and glassware.

Higher up in the hotel is the pool, which is supposedly up for renovation within the next few years. Though, beyond the pool is a wonderful outdoor terrace with umbrella tables and chairs, and some awesome views of both north and south Boston.
