Another Hotel To Book For the Cute Toiletry Bag
Most folk book a hotel stay on three important criteria--price, location and quality. But seasoned hotel guests like ourselves might consider a fourth criteria--toiletries (And hey, we're not alone.)
It used to be back in the day we got excited by the brands of toiletries being offered, particularly Fresh, Red Flower and Kiehl's. Then we started obsessing over hotels that went above and beyond the hotel trinity of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel to offer multiple lotions, mouthwash, toothbrushes, razors and combs. But now we're onto something new--carefully selected toiletry kits.
Recently, we've spotlighted the kits at the Upper House in Hong Kong filled with high-end REN products (along with a plastic baggie for TSA on your trip home) and the Elite Therapeutics line at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. And now we've been able to sneak a peek at the toiletries being offered in-rooms at the Rancho Valencia Resort in San Diego which is reopening later this fall.
Tucked in a cute powder blue bag are Amala products from the skincare company's Rejuventating line. The one we received included the rejuvenating cleansing milk, the rejuvenating toner and the rejuvenating face cream, all of which have a delicious cocoa bean scent.
The products were chosen by the resort's spa director, Stephanie Baxter, for their "effectiveness, authenticity and dedication to completely natural and organic formulas."
The hotel is currently closed as renovations continue but the 49 updated guest suites and villas should reopen, along with the spa, next month. After that, the resort's brand new Yoga Pavilion will debut in October. Rates for the resort will start around $650 for an Agave Suite, the starting room category. And when you're paying that much per night, it's comforting to know that your skin is getting pampered too.
