We're already three days into August, which is about halfway through the Olympics, as well as (sadly) summer in general. That means the next big date coming up for NYC hotels is—you guessed it!—Labor Day.

We poked around online to see what's still available for a one-night stay on September 1, and, while we came up with a few decent options, one of the top choices would have to be Sheraton New York's 50th Anniversary deal. Celebrating two milestones at once (fifty years in business, plus the hotel's brand new renovation), the hotel is offering rooms on Sept 1 for the spectacular $196.20/night.

The under-$200 deal will get you inside a newly-renovated room, complete with ridged leather desk chairs, cozy window benches with curtain-matching cushions, and handsome tan and black color palette. Also refreshed are the hotel's fitness center and Club Lounge.

Meanwhile, a few other noteworthy places that are still offering rooms for the end-of-summer holiday weekend: Ace Hotel ($259/night), The Algonquin ($332/night) and W New York Downtown ($289/night). W New York Lexington is also available, though for the slightly higher rate of $359/night.

As far as new hotels on the scene (or at least, new-ish), we found availability at Conrad New York ($299/night), Tryp Times Square ($299/night) and Pod 39 ($175/night, but with a two-night minimum).

Better yet, if it's a nice rooftop space you're after, in order to gaze over Manhattan as it transitions from hot, sticky summer to cool, crisp fall, consider these three: Empire Hotel ($359/night), Hilton New York Fashion District ($329/night) and Brooklyn's hot new Wythe Hotel, where a Brooklyn view is on offer for $350/night, while a Manhattan skyline will cost you $444/night.
