Last night was a big night for Mitt Romney as he officially accepted the GOP's nomination for president. So how did he celebrate? Well, we don't know the specifics but it probably went down at the Marriott Waterside Hotel in Tampa which according to the NY Times is now "Camp Romney."
Mitt and his wife, Ann, are staying in a suite at the 719-room hotel as are their siblings. Word is they are strolling the halls spontaneously hugging people who sports "friends and family" Marriott tags.
Much like when we found out Romney's running mate, Paul Ryan, stayed at a Fairfield Inn before his announcement, we're not surprised that Mitt and co. are in a Marriott. After all, he served on the board. (We have a feeling we'll be saying that a lot in the upcoming months.)
However, we are sorta surprised by the antics of the Romney (grown and adult) kids who nearly mowed over some journalists while driving an over-sized golf cart. Luckily, they later apologized.
Meanwhile, things should get back to normal at the hotel by Friday after the GOP convention ends. We found rooms next weekend for $119 a night. While the hotel ain't sexy (those rooms are just so...corporate-y), it does have a waterfront location and convenient access to the convention center.
