Where To Stay In NYC If You're A Choco-holic

We know we can't be the only ones who pay serious attention to the dessert options in a hotel before booking a room there. And whether that's a new donut shop at the Four Seasons, or wine-paired girl scout cookies, all we really care about is getting our daily sugar fix.

But as it turns out, New York is a particularly good place to visit if you're a choco-holic. And we're not just talking about the M&M store in Times Square...

Downstairs in The Plaza, one of the city's most decadent chocolate havens is FP Patisserie, which offers Francois Payard's signature truffles, tarts, cakes, hot chocolate, and, one of our favorites—peanut butter and raspberry jelly chocolates.

Last month, we told you about a new French-themed monthly film series happening at Peninsula New York. This month's featured film? Chocolat. Taking place up on the Salon de Ning rooftop bar, the events supposedly offer "delicious cocktails and theatre-style gourmet snacks"—which we can only assume means something chocolatey and delicious. Show up on August 27 at 8:30 for the open-air choco-fest.

Meanwhile, over in Times Square, we always have a soft spot for the giant atrium lobby at Marriott Marquis. But way, way, way above the lobby sits The View, a rotating restaurant that overlooks much of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Head to the lounge portion of the restaurant, and help yourself to big gushing chocolate fountain, complete with marshmallows, strawberries and pretzels.

Finally, over in Brooklyn, The Wythe is playing into the local cult known as The Mast Brothers, a chocolate-making dynamic duo whose factory is just ten minutes from the hotel. According to the NY Times review, the Wythe's restaurant offers an "elegantly composed layer cake" made with Mast Brothers chocolate. Locavore? More like choco-vore.
