Only one month away from its grand opening, the Sheraton Macao is set to become the largest hotel in Macao, as well as the largest property in Starwood's already-sizeable portfolio. With 3,863 rooms built inside two separate towers (dubbed, appropriately, 'Sky' and 'Earth'), the hotel is going out of its way to help guests make the most of their Macao stay.

How? Well, for starters, Sheraton launched new website earlier this month that helps guests navigate the "wide variety of experiences" available on the Cotai Strip. To do this, they've assembled a cast of four "themed" proto-guests, who each offer a different perspective on the city: food, heritage, adventure, and shopping. So even though you're likely to spend hours wandering the halls trying to re-locate your own room, at least you'll know how to maximize the rest of your time.

The second incentive? Limited-time special opening rates of just $130/night.

Starting today, guests can log onto the hotel's website and book a room with the discounted rate, which also gets them a $30 voucher applicable to their next Sheraton Macao stay. The offer only lasts until August 31 (at which point rates will probably climb higher towards $200/night), but you can book your stay for anytime between September 20 and the end of March 2013.

Just approximating here, but: for a three-night stay, that's roughly $150 extra that can go directly towards slot machines, blackjack, poker, roulette—or any of the gambling outlets available in the surrounding casinos. This is Macao, after all, and if you feel like burning through money, there are a thousand ways to do it.

But just for the sake of staying in the world's largest Sheraton (Macao also boasts two other record breakers: the world's largest Conrad and Holiday Inn), we'd gladly make the trip over. The only thing left to worry about is the airfare, which kind of makes the supposed "savings" on room rates seem like peanuts. For flights to either Hong Kong or Macau, Virgin seemed to have the best deal to Hong Kong for $1109—though that's still quite a chunk of change.

Maybe for now, we'll just have to content ourselves experiencing the hotel virtually through its dedicated "Sheraton travelers."
