Believe it or not, it's been nearly nine months since we last checked in on what will be the world's first Virgin Hotel. That's long enough to have a baby and yet the Virgin Hotel in Chicago's Loop hasn't even started showing. Or has it?
We strolled on by just yesterday and noticed some movements here and there, most notably the first sign. It simply announces the construction office, but it does say "Virgin Hotel"—yay!
Other updates include scaffolding over the sidewalk, fences to prevent the stone window decorations from cracking and falling on pedestrian heads, and a completely closed and moved out bank that used to do business just off what will be the Virgin Hotel lobby.
Fall 2013 remains the projected opening date, so mark it in your iCal and stay tuned through the next whole year, of course.
