Here's a Way to Wear Your Love for The Dorchester Around Your Neck

When we fall in love with a hotel, we do what we can to bring the hotel experience home with us. Sometimes, we settle for the bath toiletries or the note pad and pencils. Other times, we shell out money for limited edition items like scented candles, plush bathrobes, tote bags and even flip-flops and sneakers. And while we've yet to personally shell out thousands of dollars on jewelry collections inspired by a hotel, it's nice we could do that...if we had the funds.
But for now, we're eying a less expensive way to wear our love for a hotel around our neck--a printed silk scarf from British fashion designer Teatum Jones inspired by The Dorchester Hotel.
Measuring 54 inches by 54 inches, the scarf is made of 100 percent pure silk double georgette and features the metalwork of the hotel's balconies juxtaposed with old black and white photographs of the hotel's staff from the early days. Catherine Teatum, creative director of Teatum Jones, explains more about the design:
We merged bold graphic lines with softer elements inspired by colors from within the hotel's most famous suite into a liquid romantic fantasy. The hardest aspect was limiting ourselves to one design. I can picture the Teatum Jones woman in these surroundings, the unabashed beauty and vibrancy pull you into a magical world."
The Dorchester Scarf will be soldduring London Fashion Week at the city's fashion emporium, Liberty, starting September 18. The scarf will also be available from The Dorchester's own online shop at shop.thedorchester.com. The price is £245 (about $380USD.)
The Dorchester will also be holding a Teatum Jones Fashion Tea on September 18 at 2:15pm ad 4:45pm. The price is £52 per adult and includes a glass of champagne. (But sadly, not the scarf.) Reservations can be made by calling the hotel at +44 (0)20 7629 8888 or by emailing restaurants.TDL@dorchestercollection.com.
