We Can't Wait to Hang Out in the James Royal Palm's Lobby (And Pools)

Yep, that's pools, plural. But before we even step outside of the brand new The James Royal Palm when it opens in October, we're going to want to linger in the hotel's mint-fresh lobby.

Wouldn't you? Stepping out of the crazy-humid and crazy-crazy South Beach atmosphere of Collins Avenue into this cool looking space seems mighty appealing. Especially if there are nice, strong Mojitos waiting on that pretty green bar.

The interiors for The James Royal Palm were created by Rottet Studio, and here's what principal Lauren Rottet had to say in Boutique Design magazine about her inspiration:

"After eating in some Cuban cafes and talking with local artists, I started thinking about Jean-Michel Basquiat (the late graffiti/neo-expressionist artist) meeting Virginia Woolf at the James and staying up long into the night talking about art and poetry."

Alrighty, then. Not what came to mind when we saw Rottet's work, but we can dig her vision--and we look forward to seeing the pieces of furniture carved from tree trunks that are said to be in the hotel.

Then, of course, out the back, there is this...

We bet Basquiat would have loved it.
