Now. The new Regent coming to SoBe is not a Regent like those former Regents. Just to confuse you even more, it shares an address with another new hotel on the way: The Gale South Beach.
According to the company behind both properties, Menin Hotels:
The Regent and Gale Hotel are sister properties which names are historical landmarks in Miami Beach. The Regent & Gale are home to 89 intimate rooms with modern accommodations and amenities as well as Drumbar, a speakeasy establishment designed to deliver warmth, style, and an energetic spirit of old meets new. To be completed at the end of 2012.
There you go. At last Miami gets a Regent again. Even if it's not a Regent-Regent but a Menin hotels 'RegentandGaleHotel' (in a building, incidentally, that was once owned by Morgans Hotel Group, who have the Delano across the street).
Got all that? Good.
It's time for a nap.
