BizTalk alerted us (sugar fiends that we are) to the opening, and didn't fail to get a quote from Schenardi, explaining just what makes a Chocolate Bomboloni Alla Crema ten times superior to a Dunkin' Donut:
"[They're] lighter and much fluffier than their American counterparts. The texture is different. Also the cream. We don’t put that much glaze on top."
Well. Not that we really needed convincing anyway...
The shop's initial opening hours will be 6–11am daily, and each bomboloni will be priced at $1.25 each. The doughnut shop will be the third dining space to open in the hotel, after Cielo, a modern Italian restaurant on top of the hotel, and its accompanying Cielo Bar.
