You're more likely to find us at one of Bimini Bay's seaside pools than at the blackjack table, but we love the idea of giving people more choice once they've flown or sailed into such a small and rather isolated area. (This is not a part of the Bahamas where you can just cab it over to another resort next door.)
The promise of a high-speed ferry connecting Fort Lauderdale to Bimini only makes the Resorts World Bimini Bay concept even more appealing to South Floridians who've done the Hard Rock and are keen to gamble in more tropical pastures.
In the meantime, you'll have to sail your own vessel to Bimini, or take a short 25-minute flight from Fort Lauderdale or Miami.
Rooms at Bimini Bay Resort on summer dates start at around $229 a night, although the rate comes down to around $170 a night if you stay four nights or more. We look forward to seeing how the resort decides to accommodate high-roller once the casino opens its doors...
