Along with college girls, suburban grandmothers and soccer moms, we too were secretly titillated by E. L. James' erotic Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. We toted the books on planes, read by the pool in Sin City (with just about everyone else in Vegas) and sometimes, we sheepishly skimmed while waiting at the drive-thu for our coffee.

As we got deeper into Anastasia and Christian's complex relationship, it turns out that we were only doing our job. The Heathman Hotel in Portland as a prominent setting to the story made us wonder, 'Why doesn't the Heathman have a Fifty Shades of Grey package ?'

Well, it turns out they do.

We found two offerings awaiting your (key) touch discretely tied up within the website. But you'll have to submit to their “dynamic reservation” system to get it. The reservation system on the Heathman's website dominates in that only after you have filled out your dates and room preferences will the packages appear as an add-on option.

The first package is a very simple “ Inner Goddess” that includes a bottle of Boedecker Cellars Pinot Gris for $40 (you supply the goddess).

The second is more of a megalomaniac’s delight and is priced to match at $2,750. The “ Charlie Tango No Limits” named for Christian Grey's helicopter begins with cocktails at the Heathman. Of course you may elect to have white wine. Then you and five of your friends are whisked off to your private heli-pad for an evening helicopter tour of the city. Back on the ground you step back into your limo and are chauffeured back to the Heathman for dinner and up to your elegant suite.

As it is a “ no limits” package, the hotel states that the “ rest of the night is up to you” and it is “ all inclusive.” Hmm. Do you need to sign a contract?

Excluding the packages, rates for rooms at The Heathman Hotel right now range from $259 for a Deluxe Queen to $839 for one of the Signature Suites.
