The Hotel Indigo at Atlanta Airport Will Finally Open on July 12

We could have spent hours playing with the Interactive Media Board at the newest Atlanta-area Hotel Indigo. We could make weird faces and take goofy pictures of ourselves standing in the hotel’s lobby. A few taps on the touchscreen gave us restaurant locations and attraction info, and stuff to do in College Park.
Set to open on July 12th, this five-story 142-room property, the third Hotel Indigo in Georgia, is owned and managed by College Park Hotels LLC under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group.
Construction for the Indigo actually began back in 2008, but the project stalled when the economy tanked. But in a sign of (somewhat) changing times, now the hotel's opening date is just two months after the opening of the airport's new billion dollar international terminal. Isn’t that convenient?

After we took a break from playing with the media board thingie in the lobby, we checked out the hotel’s Blue Goose Bar and Restaurant and found a long shiny bar with cushioned chairs in neutral colors. In the sitting area for the restaurant we noticed the cozy booths with flat-screen TVs and the floor to ceiling windows for natural light.

Inside the rooms, we sighed in relief when we spotted the spa-sized showers. There were no tubs, but the bathrooms in this Indigo are noticeably larger than the miniscule bathrooms in the Midtown location. All of the rooms have hardwood floors, iPod/iPhone docking stations, and flat-screen TVs with DirectTV. Yes, there’s free WiFi, too.
The hotel's website still says opening July 20 but we can assure you it will open on July 12. Rates will start around $90 a night.
