The three-mile course opened to the public this past weekend, though at exactly the same time, a documentary, titled You've Been Trumped, was released in theaters around the UK in an attempt to show the property's harmful effect on what activists call "one of Britain's last remaining wilderness areas."
Yikes.
Unsurprisingly, Trump is nothing but starry-eyed about his new baby, and wants all the golfers of the world to know it:
"This is truly the greatest golf course anywhere in the world.
Everybody knows it, lots of people are saying it, and most importantly golf people are saying it, so we are really honoured by the way it has turned out.
It's the whole structure that makes it special - the dunes, being on the North Sea - the architect has done an amazing job."
Construction of the accompanying hotel has been impeded by conflicting plans for an offshore windfarm, which Trump feels confident won't actually come to fruition. And should the windfarm proposal indeed get scrapped, Trump says he'll be ready to pounce. He told the Daily Mail that, once he gets the green light, he'll get to work on the hotel "immediately."
