Pulling The Fire Alarm at a Hotel Will Get You Arrested, Even If You Play for the NFL
The news of Philadelphia Eagles player Dion Lewis pulling a fire alarm at a Hampton Inn over the weekend can be chalked up to typical off-season NFL player shenanigans. (Seriously, compared with other stuff NFL guys get into, this one is TAME.)
But we think there's an important lesson here for you frequent hotel guests--pulling that fire alarm when there's no fire will get you arrested. That's what happened with Lewis and his brother after the duo arrived back at the hotel in Albany, where they were staying, at 5am and couldn't get in. They began banging on the doors and then pulled the fire alarm. Yeah, this wasn't going to end well.
Fire department officials came and seeing there was no fire, promptly arrested Lewis and his brother for falsely reporting an incident which is a felony, albeit it one of the most minor types of felonies. The brothers were also charged with reckless endangerment of property.
Looks like that affordable Hampton Inn stay turned out to be very expensive for Dion Lewis. Fortunately, he has the funds. We're not sure we can say that about the rest of us. So kids, remember, don't play with fire...alarms.
