The uber-luxury hotel offers a top notch high tea for well healed guests and visitors alike. The menu for the tiered plates that come to the small tables in the lobby, mirrors the current Versace collection. This year, the entire experience carries hues of bright pink, lavender, molten chocolates, lemon and pistachio. Now, yes those sound like fabric colors, but they are also perfect petit-four colors.
We chose the High Tea with Sparking Wine featuring a beautiful bubbles from Domaine Chandon in the Yarra Valley. Very few things beat relaxing on couture fabric arm chairs with the reflection of the pool glistening on the ceiling, all the while being fed like a celeb. If your budget can handle it, high tea with a glass of Dom Perignon is on the cards for $110 AUD, per person.
From savory to sweet, with a full plate of homemade, warm scones with local cream and jam, truly hit the spot and made for a memorable afternoon. The service was absolutely flawless with our server taking our coffee and tea order at the beginning of the service. The coffee came at just the right time without us even asking or making the needful eye to our server.
All of the restaurants in Palazzo Versace are open to the public in addition to hotel guests, but if you want to get a room after the experience, rooms range from A$470 per night, all the way to A$2500 for the Imperial Suite.
