Diving into Conrad Chicago's plump, pillow-laden hotel bed would be even more awesome post sleep elixir
We almost mistook it for just another pillow menu, though there are plenty to choose from, including pillows for magnetic therapy, colds and romance. But that was just the start of everything else on Conrad’s sleep menu:
- Sleep elixirs (4$) grabbed our attention straightaway, especially the Sleepyhead beverage created by a Chicago-based company with GABA, valerian root and melatonin to promote sleep. Other elixirs include hot cocoa, sleepytime tea and night caps ($7) like Bailey’s, Grand Marier and Kahlua.
- H20 + treatments ($4) and overnight hydration ($15) play to the restful, nourishing effects of spa therapy. Once again staying true to local roots with products care of Chicago-based H20 products, hotel guests at Conrad can order treatments ranging from Lip Mender Hydrating Complex and Eye Oasis Hydrating to more intensive overnight goods like Moisture Lock Socks and a Soothing Aqua Thermal Mask.
- Other sleep amenities ($6) mean you can get turndown service ranging from the hotel’s signature turndown with fresh water and ice (complimentary) to a Deluxe-Aroma turndown complete with Sleepytime tea service. Got a hankering for a cuddly teddy bear, chocolates or silence? The sleep menu delivers that, too, with a plush toy, earplugs and moon-and-star-shaped chocolates.
- Sleep technology ($6) is the answer for tech junkies who need a little boost before calling it a night. Rent an Amazon Kindle loaded with lit and poetry or a sound machine to effectively zone out.
All told, there are some 30-plus items on Conrad’s sleep menu. And the best part? The majority are either free or reasonably priced; all but one of the pillows is available complimentary, as is the signature turndown service. Most everything else – elixirs, night caps, treatments and electronics – range from $4-$7, with only a few items around $15.
Rates at the Conrad Chicago hotel currently start at $255 per night.
