Death Visits The Beverly Hilton Again

2012 will likely go down as one of the worst years in history at the Beverly Hilton.

Back in February, it unfortunately earned a spot on the Hollywood Death Tour map after Whitney Houston was found dead in a bathtub on the fourth floor just before a pre-Grammy party was to take place at the hotel. Not helping was the hotel's unwise decision to tweet about celebrities arriving at the hotel while Houston's body laid in the room for more than four hours.

Now death has visited the hotel again in the form of a murder-suicide which happened on Friday night. And once again the tragic event happened just before the hotel was to host a big Hollywood bash, the Daytime Emmy Awards.

The victims are only described as "elderly" by the Los Angeles Police Department, although the Associated Press reported the man was in his 60s while the woman was in her 50s. They appeared to have died from gunshot wounds. But no other details have been released. We don't even know if it happened in a hotel room at the hotel or somewhere else on the property.

Yes, people die at hotels all the time. That's a sad but common reality for hotels. Yet even we can't help but be weirded out about this new tragedy at the Beverly Hilton. The Daytime Emmy awards went on as scheduled on Saturday night but here's hoping that's the last of their drama for their year.
