A new hotel will be gracing the streets of Sydney and we're happy to see one with a sense of style. The city welcomes an edgy and cheeky design hotel smack dab in the middle of the central business district. While the city is host to plenty of international hotel chains, this Australian brand is a welcome addition for guests wanting to break out of the norm.

QT Hotel will start welcoming guests to their newest Aussie property by September of this year. Housed in the 80 year old, former State Theatre, the downtown location will surely impress with it's 200 rooms, hip lounge, trendy restaurant and street side barista.

The hotel is known for being the 'it' place for the 'it' crohe that is chic and contemporary. Each room will be equiped with high speed internet, a walk-in shower and free standing tub, traditional or Japanese. The design element will be carried through each room combining sleek, yet comfortable and functional style.

With sister locations in the Gold Coast and Port Douglas, QT continues their reputation for attention to detail and design. Hopefully, we can see more from them and feed our design hotel appetite.

A QT Deluxe King room after opening will set you back $420 AUD with the larger suites to be released as they are completed.

I saw the signs that a hotel was coming to this spot -- also the old Gowing's Dept. Store building -- last month. Perfect location. Glad something fun will be going into what was a fun place to shop. Sydney also needs more of this: NEW hotels.

How awesome!

Your are very right, this is very necessary in Sydney! Can't wait to check it out! By the looks of the rooms, it will be a cracker of a property!
