"Stay Hilton. Go Out" is Hilton's big push to win over gay customers. We first mentioned this back in April, mainly because we were excited about the free WiFi perk. That's some major points against Marriott, who doesn't necessarily include free WiFi in all stays booked during Pride, and who ranked slightly worse than Hilton on our annual Wifi Report this year.
But WiFi aside, the Hilton campaign is a blanket promotion that applies the same set of perks to over 140 properties around the world: double HHonor base points, a one-year digital subscription to OUT, and late check-out. So whether you're partying it up at the newly-renovated Millennium Hilton in New York (from $233/night) or the jazz-loving Drake Hotel in Chicago (from $143/night), you can always expect essentially the same deal.
Meanwhile, Marriott is getting more localized with their "Be You, With Us" campaign (though not scoring big points on the name...), in which a series of different pride-themed curated packages are offered in different cities around the world. This will appeal to those planner types that like to know exactly what they're doing and where they're going.
Perks vary depending on the city—for example, in New Orleans, guests get two welcome cocktails and a gay guide map of the city. Meanwhile, over in Lisbon, the packages includes free access to the Executive Lounge, free breakfast, free snacks in the afternoon, and one three-course dinner per stay. Not bad!
Of course, you also have to read the fine print. While Marriott's "Be You, With Us" deal is available seven days a week, with a three-night minimum, Hilton's offer is only valid Thursday-Sunday, and imposes a two-night minimum.
We'll now turn it over to you. After browsing the two promotions on each brand's site, which one appeals to you the most? Have you already booked a stay through either "Be You, WIth Us" or "Stay Hilton. Go Out" promotion? Tell us about it!
