CitizenM Bankside in London is Gearing Up for Its 2012 Opening

We've previously told you about how CitizenM is opening not one, but three hotels in London over the next year and a half or so: near St. Paul's Cathedral, Tower of London, and the Thames Southbank.

The latter - CitizenM Bankside - is in a little hotel hotspot that we've been keeping an eye on, with a multitude of properties popping up, including the much-anticipated Mondrian London.

Construction has certainly made a lot of progress since we first got a peek via Foursquare; from the outside the hotel looks nearly ready to go. Work was ongoing this past weekend, but even the entrance / lobby looked like it was coming together.

You'll recognise the modular concept of the hotel rooms, which we first saw at its Amsterdam Schiphol Airport location. Perhaps the artwork with "Another World Is Possible" is a reference to this being not-your-average hotel concept? And we suppose the suited gentleman / golfer is an example of the "mobile citizen of the world" that will be choosing to stay at CitizenM.

We'll keep you posted as the hotel starts welcoming guests to bring you an update on how the brand has done with its introduction to the UK market. We'd guess that with affordable rooms in a city known for its inflated hotel prices, and not to mention free Wifi, they will do just fine.
