Langham Hotels Take Over The Observatory Hotel: One of our favorite hotels Down Under, The Observatory on The Rocks in Sydney (pictured) won't be an Orient-Express Hotel much longer. Thanks to a new owner, the hotel will switch over to the Langham Hotels brand in August. While we hope the rooms get an upgrade, we pray they don't touch the glamorous indoor swimming pool.
Four Seasons Takes Over Encantado: Another management switcheroo has broken out, this time in New Mexico. Auberge Hotels have been kicked out of Encantado Resort in Santa Fe and replaced with Four Seasons. The takeover is effective immediately and after a short transition period, the resort will be known as Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe. Hotels Mag reports that Four Seasons was brought in by the owners to boost occupancy levels.
Free Sunglasses for Checking In at Element On Solstice Day: The Summer Solstice is officially happening next Wednesday, June 20th and if you are checking into an Element Hotel somewhere, you'll be rewarded with a free pair of aviator sunglasses. Free WiFi, free breakfast and now free shades. Not too shabby!
