That's the Garden Wing tucked back there

Here's a fun little fact: The Shangri-La Hotel Singapore is actually the original property of the Shangri-La collection. Sure, many travelers know it originated in Asia (the "Shangri-La" name kinda gives it away), but you'll find its flagship just off Singapore's popular Orchard Road...set back into a lush grove of palm trees and birds-of-paradise.

We've already shown you the dual, exquisite lobbies and inside a suite within the more exclusive Valley Wing, but finally we have a glimpse at what the most recent renovation has created: refreshed rooms in the Garden Wing.

After 8 months and a $51 million worth of renos, the 158 guestrooms and suites of the Garden Wing have reopened. In addition to the Shangri-La perks of complimentary WiFi and a shuttle bus to Orchard Road, the Garden Wing offers more "resort-style" accommodations next to the pool and gardens, daily tai chi and koi fish feeding ceremonies, and a new Waterfall Cafe and al fresco dining area. If you opt for one of the Premier Balcony Suites, your balcony will even come complete with an outdoor jacuzzi and BBQ grill. Did somebody say spicy sambal stingray?!

We checked nightly prices for the new Garden Wing rooms and found them averaging $300 this summer. Of course it's going to be HOT in Singapore these few months, so you'll be thankful for the quick walk to the pool (or that private jacuzzi).
