The Newest Hotel In Panama City Is A Mega Big Deal

Panama City must be feeling pretty good about itself, as it's three weeks into the soft opening of its newest hotel, the 66-floor, 1,400-room Hard Rock Megapolis Panama. Though, as of now, only 500 of those rooms are open. Wait, are we hearing ourselves? Only 500 rooms?

Panama is super hot right now, but it's by no means on the same level as other burgeoning international hotel cities like Macau or Tokyo. So the fact that a third of Megapolis' planned 1,400 rooms are now up and running is kind of a big deal.

Hard Rock has made Panama its first Latin American destination, and with good foresight. Other openings in the bustling waterfront capital include the city's second Westin Panama, a Waldorf-Astoria Panamera and the Trump Ocean Club, which just opened last summer.

The Megapolis Panama will include some of Hard Rock's trademark amenities like the Rock Shop, Base Bar nightclub, Body Rock gym, Rock Spa, Cutz Beauty Salon, Hard Rock Lounge, and an infinity pool with private cabanas and the Float Bar. What's more, the project is backed by the Megapolis Investment Group, whose portfolio includes the Multicentro shopping mall, located steps away from the new hotel. Coincidence? No such thing!

Rates here start at just $159/night, which is a good deal better than our friends at Trump Ocean Club. May the Panama hotel scene continue to rock!

Amazing hotel- Awesome amenities

My satisfying stay started since I walked in. I always enjoy everything fresh and new. Walking inside a room with  completely new linens was great. I also enjoyed its toiletries. The hotel has an excellent location, it is located at a mall, with everything close by,another good thing about its location is that we had panoramic views.

It's not their 1st. Latin American destination

They already have a resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
