A unique green initiative has hit the shores of Australia and we hope that other hoteliers pick up on the trend. Sydney's Swissotel now offers free valet service for guests who rock up in a hybrid vehicle. This offer is a first for any hotel across the city and, to our knowledge, across the country.

Sydney can be considered, Australia's most congested city, with as many as 700,000 cars clogging up the thoroughfares everyday. The environmental consideration prompts visitors to rethink their choices for cars when at the rental agency. In all, this is not only good for the planet, but good for your credit card since valet parking will set you back $55AUD per night.

The initiative is part of the hotel's wellness program called Vitality, designed to invigorate guests' mind, body and soul during their stay. The wellness focus extends beyond hotel rooms and now extends to Mother Earth.

The program also continues the green theme by housing 4 urban bee-hives on the roof of the hotel to supply the hotel with enough honey to revamp their restaurant menus and stay sustainable. Next time you find your self staying at this hotel, keep in mind that there are at least 200,000 little guests with a better view of the Sydney Harbor Bridge.

Prices for just a room start at $269AU per night and to keep the cost down, just rent that hybrid car at the airport!
