W Times Square to Host First Instagram NYC Exhibit, and They Want Your Photos

We don't have to tell you that we're pretty crazy for the social photo sharing app Instagram and its potential for peeking into the hotel rooms of other travelers. This week saw the launch of Instagram for Android and now, more good news:

The W Hotel Times Square will open New York City's first Instagram photography exhibit on May 1. On display in the hotel's Living Room lobby area through June, the photos consist of works from five of the most popular Instagrammers in the Instagram NYC community. BUT! There's still a opening for one more, thanks to a contest of course. The details:

To participate in the contest, use the #WDESIGN hashtag when you instagram photos that "focus on the impact that urban design elements and architecture have on the character of a city’s landscape." Several will win a position to have their photo exhibited as part of the show, but only one will be chosen to score the Grand Prize: a weekend at W Times Square, dinner for two at Blue Fin and a special iPhone camera lens for enhanced future Instagramming.

You have until April 13 to get those tagged NYC-ish photos posted!

Here's the details on what's already going into the exhibit:

...Each participating photographer has created a unique portfolio of New York’s most fascinating structures and urban creativity. The exhibit will merge these series’ together, creating a tribute to New York that brings the city’s diverse architectural and design backdrop to the forefront. The exhibition will include both images taken exclusively for this exhibit as well as handpicked images from each photographer’s online Instagram collection.
