Canadian Boutique Hotel Group to Open ALT Hotels in Winnipeg, Toronto, Montr�al and Halifax

Speaking of Canada today, Groupe Germain Hospitality � a family-run, luxury boutique hotel company based in Qu�bec � is expanding into the Prairies and the east with its little sister hotel brand, ALT Hotels.

The concept is simple: maximize modern design and minimize unnecessary amenities. The cost of your room remains the same no matter when you travel, so no need to try to angle for the best room rate during those peak times. Need a Wi-Fi connection? Included. iPod docking station? Got it. A doorman who�ll hail a taxi for you? Nowhere to be found.

Another innovation is that each room in an ALT Hotel is prefabricated. That�s right, folks... it�s a hotel in a box. So rooms only come in two different sizes, but with customized interiors to reflect current design trends.

And speaking of trends, one that�s sure to stick around is the move towards greener hotels. ALT Hotels do not disappoint in this area. From geothermal heating and cooling to heat recovery from ventilation exhaust, these ALTernative hotels measure up. We can all feel good about where we choose to lay our heads at night.

Groupe Germain Hospitality owns five hotels under its luxury moniker, Le Germain Hotels. They�re known for their chic sophistication and service, and when we stayed at Hotel Le Germain Toronto, both the service and the room were outstanding, with more storage space available than we could possibly use, sometimes a rarity in the realm of boutique hotels.

Groupe Germain opened their first ALT Hotels in Qu�bec City and Montr�al. Their expansion plans are to build ten hotels in different Canadian cities over the next five years. As always, we'll keep you posted.
