Sorry Starbucks, Hotel Lobbies Are Cooler Than You

Today the Wall Street Journal had an article about how hotel lobbies are surpassing Starbucks locations as the places to get a cup of joe, do work and hang out.

In other words, digital nomads are seeking out hotel lobbies more than ever.

At the top of the list in Chicago is, not surprisingly, The Public Hotel which has not only a coffee bar, plenty of electrical outlets, cool architecture but also according to one nomad nicer bathrooms than Starbucks.

Another hot spot for hanging out and getting work done? The Andaz Wall Street where one nomad discovered "an area one floor beneath the main lobby, where it's quiet enough for phone calls."

Of course, no article on hotel lobbies fit for digital nomads could be complete without a mention of The Ace New York which is pretty much a digital nomad's paradise, thanks to its collegiate-feel lobby scene, Stumptown Coffee shop, The Breslin and John Dory restaurants and the No. 7 sub shop. But you better put on your game face if you want to nab a seat here.
