It was also announced last week that Edition hopes to have six hotels open by the end of 2015. Those would include the already open Istanbul Edition, the under-construction South Beach Edition, the Clock Tower Edition in New York as well as Editions in Bangkok (again), Abu Dhabi and Guragon, India. There's even talk of putting an Edition in Los Angeles, adjacent to Beverly Hills, which we would like very much.
The logistics of expanding Edition are a little unclear. First, Marriott was all about using its own money to make the brand happen but now it might sell three of the hotels to fund the expansion.
Truth be told, we're ambivalent about how do they all of this. We just want more Edition Hotels to open closer to home. Is that so bad?
