The 168-room hotel will feature "timeless" interiors done by French designer Jacques Garcia who was inspired by the Parisian flats of his youth. Each room will have hand-selected, custom-designed furnishings and artwork. We're already nodding our heads with approval at those leather armchairs next to the bed.
As you can tell from these room descriptions, the hotel won't really be a competitor with the Ace Hotel. Indeed, a source tells us the NoMad will be "a very high-end hotel, that will complement the Ace" rather than seek to steal away its hipster business.
The NoMad's new website is currently up and running and reservations are being accepted for May starting at $295 a night. However, we hear the website will soon start offering reservations for later this month when the hotel soft-opens. Now, excuse us, while we go add this opening to the list.
