Yes, the resort also offers a traditional fitness center (not to mention zumba classes, kayaking, and yoga on the beach), but, really, why pass up the chance to work out with some rainforest critters? Everything from green vervet monkeys, whistling frogs and brown mongoose have been spotted during the three-mile hike.
No, it's not for the faint-hearted, nor should you attempt this climb if your time on the island is very limited (the total trek lasts about six hours). But for the adventurous ones with time (and a good pair of hiking shoes) on their hands, the views are supposedly amazing.
Included in the new "Escape! Attraction Package," (starting at $264/night): a garden view room, tour of the island, buffet breakfast, the volcano safari hike, and a picnic lunch at the top of the volcano.
