While most rooms are geared to singles and couples, small families can make it work in the suites containing sofa beds. And just in case the $195-$350 rates seem too good to be true, we’re told they'll remain set year-round, even during the busy summer season, in order to make the Presidio accessible to curious tourists.
We loved the second floor Bay View rooms which open right out to a corner-to-corner porch dotted with rocking chairs. From there, guests can peep the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance
Built in 1903, the building has been restored and added modern touches (iPod docking stations, flat-screen TVs) though antiques, original wood flooring and the red- brick façade remain in place.
