A Sneak Peek at the New Rooms of The Algonquin Hotel
The iconic Algonquin Hotel closed earlier this year for renovations and while the reconstruction continues this month, we've finally got a sneak peek (in the form of a rendering) as to what the new rooms will look like.
We're impressed! Interior design firm, Intra-Spec, Inc have made the rooms look sophisticated, elegant and timeless, which is really what the Algonquin's all about. The hotel, which is also part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, is aiming for an end of May/early June reopening. We'll keep you posted as to when you can make your reservations.
In other news, the man responsible for relaunching the Algonquin's Oak Room as a nightclub back in 1982, Donald Smith, passed away the other day. The hotel does not plan to reopen the Oak Room when renovations are finished. Matilda, however, will still be around. Just on a leash.
For kicks, see what an old room at the Algonquin looked like after the jump!
