We stayed here on business, and indeed it is ideal for business travelers given that everything is taken care of. Free WiFi? check. Complimentary shoe shine before a meeting? Checkjust ring your butler. A bath run for you to slip into just after dinner and long day in humid, hot Singapore? Checkjust checkmark which of three spa baths you'd prefer. Up late working and feeling peckish? There's always that lobby bar stocked with snacks and champers.
Anyway, about the room. In a few words, it's traditional elegance with a welcome touch of Asian heritage, but we aren't real estate agents trying to sell you a home in the nice part of town; the room is lovely, with enough chandeliers that you'll find yourself counting them. Our favorite part: the boudoir table with ideal lighting for applying makeup. Hey, it's the little things!
A few more little things to be appreciated: bidets in both the master and guest bathrooms (yes, there's a guest bathroom), a boxed chocolate and bookmark story at turndown, a welcome fruit bowl (and chocolates, and cookies, and tea), a massive minibar and proper tea set, and a green view over the lawns and hotel pool.
As for price, you've probably guessed correctly that since this is a higher tier suite, it's going to yield higher tier rates. Looking at random dates for later this month, the room is averaging around $970 SGD ($780 USD) per night, versus $600 SGD ($482 USD) for a lower level room still in the Valley Wing.
We stayed as a guest of Singapore Airlines, while on assignment for Jaunted.com. However, all photos, videos and opinions are completely our own.
