Trump Seals The Deal on the Doral Resort in Miami

2012 is already shaping up to be a big year for Trump Hotels.
Less than a few weeks after opening the Trump Toronto Trump Toronto comes the official announcement that Trump Hotel Collection will take over the management of the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami (and its famous Blue Monster golf course) starting in June. The property is currently a Marriott but it is already up to size, Trump size that is:
The almost 800-acre Doral Country Club includes 700 hotel rooms across 10 lodges; four golf courses; more than 86,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 25,000-square-foot Ballroom; a 50,000-square-foot spa with 33 treatment rooms; six food and beverage outlets; extensive retail; and a private members' clubhouse.
Trump Hotels will do a renovation on the property ("to return Doral to its former glory if not surpass it" in the words of Donald Trump himself) starting in June and which should be completed by the fall. The property will remain open during the renovations (thank God it's low season then!)
Rates are currently going for around $239 a night but we expect that to float up to more Trumponian levels of $395 and more come next fall.
