Solving the Peekaboo Hotel Bathroom Dilemma

The peekaboo shower in the rooms at The Standard, NYC

Writing this, we sit less than 20 feet from a Peekaboo hotel bathroom, but we've finally come to peace with the lack of privacy it requires. Actually, we've only just figured out a way to deal with it, when traveling with friends or family...or really anyone you wouldn't like watching you shower.

The resolution is quite simple, and we put it to the test with a friend to prove it works. The routine:

· Discover which of you takes the longest to shower in the morning.
· Agree that this person (the longest showering) will awaken first, and hit the shower while the other continues sleeping.
· Once first person has finished showering, they should dress and wake up second person.
· While second person is showering, first person is out either getting coffee, breakfast, the paper or just having a nice walk.
· When second person has finished showering and dressed, he/she should either join the first one at breakfast or call them to return to the room or figure out what's up for the day. Done!

We know some people will have problems staying asleep once another has woken and is making noises around the hotel room, but you can always put the covers over your head.

Bathroom

The bathroom design is in my opinion very tacky.
