There's a Vineyard Guard Dog at Argentina's Hotel El Aguamiel

Meet Anna.

In the wine region around Mendoza, there sits a tiny design-focused hotel—El Aguamiel—with its own vineyard...and its own vineyard guard dog. Anna is a large, black presence on the property, as she slinks around the 6 rooms (yes, only 6), the pool, the restaurant and the many rows of Malbec grapes.

Now, with video:

We've just spent two nights here after booking the very nice $169 rate on Jetsetter.com, and Anna has greeted us with her watchful eyes at breakfast and while we sit on our patio, taking in a view of the snow-capped Andes. Even on our first night, when we went all out with a meaty dinner in the hotel restaurant, Anna peeked her head in (but didn't step over the threshold) to investigate what must've smelled like heaven to her (it was a filet mignon and a huge beef chop).

We'll have more on El Aguamiel in the coming week, but first we've got to finish this glass of El Aguamiel Malbec...
