The NY Post reports that, having taken over a Dutchess County farm (about a two hour drive from Manhattan) from the late Bob Guccione, founder of Penthouse magazine, Balazs is now supplying chickens to his Standard Grill down on Washington St. And soon he'll have everyone hooked on his farm-to-table cuisine! He told Bon Appetit: "I've never tasted chicken like this."
We can't really picture him in denim overalls and a straw hat (though the above piece of screengrabbed photo magic ought to help)—but we're relieved he's got his sights set for once on places outside of the city. Who knows, maybe this could be the start of a new Standard-on-the-Hudson?
