Hotel Indigo Will Open on State Street in Santa Barbara on March 1

Well, this is surprising. When we were compiling our Master List of 2012 Openings, we totally did not see that Hotel Indigo would be opening in Santa Barbara. But lo and behold, an is announcement out today says that our favorite boutique brand is opening in March in the former Hotel State Street.

Opening after a multi-million dollar renovation, Hotel Indigo Santa Barbara combines the historic Santa Barbara splendor with the architectural sophistication of modern design.The forty-one room boutique hotel has thirteen guest rooms featuring private outdoor gardens and fourteen guest rooms with views of the Riviera and mountains or urban scenes dotted by palm trees.

Rooms look to be on the smaller size here but they do feature the signature Indigo gorgeous photography wallpaper, hardwood floors, sleek platform beds, inset lighting, desks with ergonomic chairs, interactive 32" TV and best of all free WiFi. But note, the bathrooms are supposedly "European-style". While they aren't shared bathrooms (thank God), they will probably be on the smaller side and without any deep-soaking tubs.

Some other cool things to find at the hotel will be a living wall of plants, a filtered water bottle refilling station, and an art library. And true to the Indigo's commitment to the local community and the arts, the Hotel Indigo Santa Barbara will house the CAF Satellite @ Hotel Indigo Santa Barbara which is curated by the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum and which will feature exhibitions of artworks and site-specific, commissioned installations from local artists.
