Right outside this lively scene is a dismal stretch of midtown near Penn Station, though you'd never know it from the way people were chatting and knocking back pints of beer. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, pedestrians can pretty much see everything going on inside. It' a bit of a fishbowl, but that doesn't seem to bother guests.
Anyone who wants to get some work done—and not shut themselves up in their room—can set up at the far end of the lobby, where a long wooden table comes outfitted with a handy light strip that shines down onto the work space. An ideal work desk...that you happen to share with about twelve other people.
Word must have gotten out about this place, though, as rates are steadily climbing from the under-$200 rates we originally saw. From a quick look today at dates in early March, prices were hovering closer to $210 and up.
But if $150 is your limit, and a tryp trip to NYC is in the cards, don't forget you do have options.
