Where Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue Models Stayed Down Under

Where: Australia

Just try to pass a newsstand this month without double-taking at the scantily clad model Kate Upton, gracing the annual Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Issue. For 2012, the gaggle of photographers, stylists and models headed down under to Australia's Great Barrier Reef and Palm Cove, but of course did a stint in the capital, Sydney.

Before heading out to the azure blue of the world famous reef, the girls hunkered down at the Shangri-La Sydney, where we're guessing they probably had their makeup and wardrobe tests while savoring the ridiculous views the hotel has of both the opera house and the Harbour Bridge.

And then it was off to Cairns, and to another hotel—the Shangri-La at The Marina. The girls may have checked out many months ago, but anyone can score a night at the same hotel; we found rates of around 145 AUD ($155) for the end of February.
