· The Saguaro Palm Springs: The brightly colored spin-off of The Saguaro Scottsdale was set to open today in Palm Springs in the former Holiday Inn on East Palm Canyon Drive. But we couldn't actually find rooms open until Monday. Those are going for $129 a night. There is also an $18 daily resort fee at the hotel which includes parking, internet, daily yoga and complimentary transportation around town.
· Palihotel Melrose: We got a sneak peek at this hip 32-room boutique hotel yesterday and while the rooms are small, the little touches go along way. So does the hotel's killer Melrose location. We found rates for tonight at a special opening rate of $199 a night. But the next three weekends are completely sold-out.
· Tryp by Wyndham: At long last the Tryp brand arrives in North America, thanks to Wyndham. Rooms at this Times Square South hotel sport a somewhat tropical vibe but have all the high-tech amenities we love. We couldn't find any rooms open until February 4 when rates drop to an amazing (but nonrefundable) $125.01 a night for a deluxe king bed. But regular rates are just $134 a night. A new hotel for well under $200 in NYC? Do it.
· Aloft San Jose: Headed to Costa Rica anytime soon? You might want to consider the brand new Aloft which opens today near the Juan Santamaria Airport. Rooms are just $139 a night and of course, all the Aloft trimmings--WiFi, the XYZ bar, the re:mix lounge and the 24/7 pantry are included.
