With only 94 guestrooms, the hotel has a unique location on one of Amsterdam’s oldest canals, the Herengracht, right in the middle of the historic center. We walked by the hotel recently and can tell you that it is highly unusual for this much space (six buildings taking up almost an entire stretch of the canal between two bridges) to become available here.
Details of the hotel are still scarce being this far away from opening, but we’re loving the look of the canal-side room and the classic ceilings in the lobby. There will be a destination restaurant and bar, a health club and spa, and conference facilities. Yet another unique feature will be a private courtyard garden, between Herengracht and Keizersgracht, offering guests a quiet and green outdoor space.
Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam will be the seventh hotel to open under the brand in Europe. First up before getting to the Netherlands though is the capital of neighboring Germany, where the brand new Waldorf Astoria Berlin is now ready for business. We’ll be taking you inside here next week.
